Kaitlyn Dougherty – Committed
Kaitlyn Dougherty is the first Calgary Diamond Devil to win a college scholarship, although there will be many to follow. Kaitlyn was on the very first Diamond Devil team in 2001 and had been on the scholarship track for many years. Kaitlyn is heading to Eckerd College in St. Petersburg (Tampa) Florida. Kaitlyn was being recruited by more than 60 schools and visited about 15 schools before accepting an offer from Eckerd. Kaitlyn was looking for a small school in a warm climate, and that is what she got. She wanted to be able to play ball outside all year long after working out in gyms for the past 6 winters. Eckerd is a NCAA Div. 2 school where Kaitlyn will likely get the opportunity to be a starter in her freshman year. She got everything she was looking for.
